My wife, who didn't like dogs, missed the piglet. So she prayed that God would provide another puppy and then contrived to make her prayers come true by going over to the piglet's old home and playing with the other puppies until the owner came out and offered her one. Answered prayer, right? Well this second puppy wasn't as cool as the first and ran away three times back to it's old home. The last time we said, "Fine, be free, no more food from us."
But! The day after Jewell made the self-fulfilling prayer and got us another (#2) puppy, I had my own puppy rescue experience (#3). As I was driving into work in the rain, the car in front of me swerved around a white rag laying in the road. When it drove by and splashed through the puddle that the rag was laying in, the rag picked it's little, white head up. I stopped, verified that the rag was indeed a puppy, checked the puppy for trauma, and turned around and brought her home. She was no more than two weeks old, her eyes were just opened, and she was shivering cold in the rain.
We bring her with us to the Hansen Christian Center on Friday and Tuesday nights and she is adored by everyone. Mike Thompson said last night, "Cute is an understatement." The evidence is plain. You can just see the champagne ring around her left eye (that blemish will keep me from making her a sacrifice later in her life, I'm sure). She has begun playing, growling, attacking my hands and her little hedgehog toy. She sleeps wherever she is when the mood hits. Just like her other major bodily functions. Whatever happens, this one is ours.

Welcome Mizu - looks like true puppy love! We will be hapy to contribute to her journey back here when the time comes :)
I know there is something about getting puppies socialized while they are very young to prevent problems later so you need to check out why they usually say wait til 8 weeks to adopt. May the sleeping through the night continue. Congrats.
Natalie will definitely want to see her when you return! If you need someone to walk her around the block, just give us a call ;-).
Congrats on this cutie. Good experience for the other babies to have to deal with the feeding/potty training, etc. ;-).

"Puddles!" I love it! Nancy hated that name, when I suggested it for their new dog; "Trickles," too, for some reason. I have no idea why.
Every time I start missing you guys a little less, you go and post something like this.
Christopher loves dogs, so maybe we can introduce him to Mizu when you get back.
By the way, what time of day's a good time to call you?
Hey Guys!
Mizu certainly looks like a cute little fur ball. Know that you're having fun raising a socially responsibly, puppy (e.g., no biting, no piddling, etc)!
Looking forward to coming out to visit (maybe next summer??) Let's start planning!!
Miss you all terribly; thought about you when we were in St Marteen. Wishing you were along for the fun.
Love you both,
C&K
Dana & Jewel,
Congratulations on the new puppy. There seems to be quite a few wondering around in Japan! I am glad this one found such a good home. I will tell Bailey he has a new cousin.. he is always looking for a playmate.
I hope you guys are doing well.
We are all fine ...Heather turned 21 last week...I was the DD for her and her sorority friends as they celebrated the right of passage....at least I was invited even... if was as only as the driver.
All our love
